BSS, DHAKA: The registration process for Hackathon, a worldwide famous programming contest, titled “Code Samurai 2024” aimed at testing the programming and problem-solving skills of the undergraduate students, will begin on December 10.

“The registration process will continue till January 10, 2024,” the organizers told a press conference at the auditorium of Dhaka University’s Computer Science and Engineering department.

From the preliminary competition scheduled for February 9, 120 teams will be qualified for the first part of final stage on March 09, said the organizers, adding, “From the first part of the final stage, the top 40 teams will advance to the two day long second part on May 10-11, 2024”.

The preliminary selection and the initial phases of the final stage will be conducted online while the second part of final stage will take place at the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Dhaka University.

This year, the organizers will arrange grooming sessions by Local and international technology experts for the selected 120 competing teams from the initial stage before the onset of the final stage.

Bangladesh-Japan joint venture company BJIT Ltd, with several Japanese IT companies in collaboration with the Dhaka University Computer Science and Engineering department has been organizing the event.

Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and accumulate knowledge by engaging with the most successful and admirable personalities in the technology industry.

Alongside financial rewards for the top-performing teams in the competition, there’s also the chance to win other accolades as many competitors secured internships at several Japanese establishments from the previous editions.

Samurai 2024 is not merely a competition but an avenue for creativity which also provides a platform for showcasing innovation in information technology offering networking opportunities for Code Samurai students with IT professionals worldwide.

Chairman of CSE department Dr Saifuddin Md. Tarek, the convener of the event Prof. Upma Kabir, the Co-convener Prof Md. Mamun-or-Rashid, and the Co-convener and COO of BJIT Ltd., Mehdi Masud, were present in the press conference.

Leading software company BJIT Ltd. has once again partnered with Global Geeks and Dhaka University to make Code Samurai 2024 a successful event.

This collaboration will create an environment that will encourage the active participation of Bangladeshi IT professionals, enabling them to showcase their innovation and expertise on a global platform.
