Special Correspondent: Contractual appointment of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has been cancelled. Besides, Commandant of Police Traffic and Driving School (Additional IGP) Md. Moinul Islam has been appointed as new IGP. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Tuesday night canceling the contractual appointment of Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. On the other hand, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification for the appointment of a new IGP.
Last month, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun’s contract was extended by one year in the second phase. Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun previously held the post of IGP on contract for a year and a half.
