Abu Sayem Muhammad Saadat Ul Karim: Opinions have expressed that the problem of forming a state together with Palestine and Israel can be solved.
In an international seminar titled “Palestine-Israel Crisis: What is the solution” organized by Bangladesh Congress, the speakers said that under the supervision of the United Nations, a democratic independent state named ‘Jerusalem’ or ‘Kenan’ should be formed in the original Palestinian territory where Muslims and Jews live together.
Chairman of Bangladesh Congress Advocate Kazi Rezaul Hossain said in the president’s speech at the seminar held at the National Press Club on Saturday, that even though people have reached the highest peak of civilization, Israel’s brutality towards Palestinians has questioned human civilization. No one sees the plight of the Palestinians who have been living inhumane for decades. The superpowers are talking about democracy and human rights but are silent on Israeli atrocities. They support Israel in all kinds of inhumane treatment and brutality towards Palestinians on the contrary. It is necessary to come out of this two-pronged policy of the West and find a permanent solution to the Palestinian problem and immediately unite Palestine and Israel to form a multiracial new state.
The seminar was conducted by Secretary General of Bangladesh Congress Advocate Md. Yarul Islam was attended by prominent political scientist poet Farhad Mazhar as chief guest and Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Yusuf Ramazan as guest of honor. Justice Abdus Salam Mamun, Daily Naya Digant Editor Alamgir Mohiuddin, Bangladesh Muslim League Chairman Advocate Mohsin Rashid, Former Senior Secretary and Diplomat Maswood Mannan, Former Diplomat Major General Amsa Amin (retd), Rajshahi University Arabic Department Professor Dr. Iftikharul Alam Masood, Islamic thinker Dr. Muhammad Esa Shahedi, Chairman of Bangladesh Labor Party Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Chairman of Ganamuktizot Dr. Shahriar Iftekhar Fuad, President of Bangladesh Ganaazadi League Mohammad Ata Ullah Khan, Member Secretary of People’s Rights Council Md Farouk Hasan, Bangladesh Hindu Mahazot General Secretary of Advocate Gobind Chandra Pramanik and Member Secretary of People’s Rights Council Md Faruk Hasan, Abdul Haque among others participated in the discussion. Second Secretary of Iran Embassy Javed Askari was also present.
The speakers said that Palestinians should be treated as human beings and not as Muslims, and they should be allowed to live normally. Neither the United Nations nor the world’s superpowers are fulfilling their proper responsibilities towards Palestine. Even the Muslim world is busy with their own interests. Muslim countries should unite and take initiatives to solve the Palestinian problem. But not through war or conflict, the Palestinian-Israeli problem must be solved politically and diplomatically. Resistance groups working on behalf of the Palestinians must also change their tactics. Pro-Palestinian countries and resistance groups must improve in education, technology, economy and military power.
