Golam Mostofa: A complaint has been received that an engineer named Md. Mojibur Rahman, working at the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, was attacked at his home by a former enemy. He is the son of Md. Ismail Hossain of Malshin village in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj district.
The incident took place at the engineer’s own house on Monday night. Confirming the matter, Tarash Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aslam Hossain said, the police were sent that night to rescue them and bring them to the police station.
Meanwhile, Engineer Md. Mojibur Rahman’s father Md. Ismail Hossain (74) filed a complaint at Tarash Police Station on Tuesday regarding the attack.
According to the statements of the victim’s family members and the police station’s complaint, several other engineers, including Khandaker Zahir Raihan, son of the deceased Khandaker Mofazzal Hossain of Malshin village, surrounded the house around 10 pm and started abusing Md. Mojibur Rahman’s family in foul language, intending to harm them. Engineer Md. Mojibur Rahman’s father Md. Ismail Hossain opened the door of the house and forbade us from cursing. Then everyone started behaving violently. At one stage, my son Engineer Md. Mojibur Rahman and his wife Md. Shiuly Khatun were ambushed, which amounted to molestation of my daughter-in-law.
On the other hand, Engineer Md. Mojibur Rahman said, “I have been beaten up due to a previous enmity. My wife has been molested. My two-year-old child Md. Walid is terrified. I demand proper justice regarding this matter.”
