Companyganj Correspondent: 25 children received bicycles as gifts after praying at the mosque for 41 consecutive days in Companiganj, Noakhali.
The award was given on Saturday afternoon by the Darus Salam Jame Mosque Committee of Charkankara Union of the upazila. The ceremony, chaired by the Mosque Committee President Md. Kamal Hossain, was attended by Companiganj Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Habel Uddin, event coordinator Hafez Qutub Uddin, Upazila Jamaat Ameer Principal Md. Belayet Hossain, President of Upazila Hospital Owners Association Haji Abdul Kuddus, Coordinator of the event, journalist Md. Masud Alam, Assistant Youth Development Officer of Companiganj Upazila AlaUddin, and prominent social worker Mizanur Rahman were present.
The chief guest said, “This is a wonderful initiative to build the character of children. When drugs are rampant in our society, the prayer competition is a commendable event. I think the competing children have become accustomed to prayer. They cannot get involved in any wrongdoing.”
