Feni Correspondent: In the interest of the country, consensus of all political parties of the mass uprising, including Dr. Yunus’ government and BNP-Jamaat-NCP-AB Party-Ganatantra Mancha and various Islamic parties, is important, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju believes. He expressed his fear that the dream of the July Uprising would end in failure if the trial of fascism, state reforms, improvement of law and order and a free and fair election cannot be ensured on the basis of consensus. The party’s head, Mr. Manju, said this while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of the new office of the AB Party in his district Feni today, a political workshop, a citizen meeting and a mass outreach program.
On Saturday morning, he held a mass outreach with local leaders in the Sharshadi Union of Feni Sadar Upazila, during which the leader also spoke at a courtyard meeting. At 3 pm, the party’s new office was inaugurated on Mizan Road in Feni town and a political workshop for party leaders and workers was held. In addition to Mujibur Rahman Manju, the party’s Vice Chairman Lt. Col. (Retd.) Didarul Alam and Co-Organizing Secretary Engineer Shah Alam Badal were present.
At 7 pm, a citizens’ meeting and exchange of views titled ‘Feni’, which is looking forward to changing the expectations, context and wave of reforms after the mass uprising, was held at a Royal Salmon restaurant in the city. Feni District AB Party Member Secretary Lecturer Fazlul Haque presided over the meeting, and District Convener Master Ahsan Ullah.
Mujibur Rahman Manju said at the citizens’ meeting; It has been proven through the July uprising that those who take away the rights of the people are forced to flee when the people unite. Today, all the big Awami League leaders of almost all the districts of the country, including Feni, have gone into hiding. The leaders of the Awami League in the neighborhoods are stubborn, but even a few days ago, people could not speak under their influence. He said that the Awami League repeatedly makes mistakes and apologizes, but whenever they get a chance, they establish Baksal and fascism again. Highlighting the history of brutal torture on the leaders and activists of various parties including BNP-Jamaat, Hefazat and AB Party in Feni, he said that the situation could deteriorate at any time if the administration does not take effective action against the terrorists. We do not want chaos, we want fair trial and punishment of the murderers and looters. Describing the division of political parties on the issue of reforms and elections as very sad, he said that in the interest of the country, the consensus of all political parties of the mass uprising including Dr. Yunus government and BNP-Jamaat-NCP-AB Party-Ganatantra Mancha and various Islamic parties is essential. He strongly demanded the establishment of a public university, medical college and a modern hospital funded by China in Feni. In this context, he said, this is the life demand of the people of Feni, regardless of party affiliation. For this, he proposed that all the people of Feni should hold a symbolic hunger strike program together one day. While delivering his speech as a special guest at the event, the party’s Vice Chairman Lt. Col. Md. Didarul Alam, PSC (Retd.) said, just as Feni is in the news because of the uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia, the people of Feni have had to suffer many deprivations for the last 15 years because of this. This time, this state will have to answer for all the deprivations. The people of Feni should unite and demand that Feni should get the highest priority in development. He called on everyone to come forward sincerely to add a new dimension to the development of Feni under the leadership of Mujibur Rahman Manju.
