
MM Rahmatullah: The Religious Attache Office of the Royal Saudi Embassy in Dhaka organized a farewell reception for 30 guests selected to perform Hajj through the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud Hajj Program 1446 AH at the Embassy Auditorium on Monday. The Saudi Embassy’s Charge the Affaires Excellency Abdulaziz bin Fahad M Al-Ibrahim was present as the chief guest at the event.
Mr. Ibrahim Al-Ahmari, Head of the Islamic Affairs Department of the Embassy, senior officials of the Religious Attache Office, embassy officials, and 30 selected guests from different professions of Bangladesh were present among others at the event. The farewell ceremony was graced by the welcoming speech of the Administrative Officer of the Religious Attache Office, Mr. Masudur Rahman. The Charge the Affaires mentioned that the various religious and public welfare programs of the Saudi government for Islam and the Muslim Ummah, such as free distribution of Quran Sharif, Translated Quran, distribution of dates, organizing Iftar for the poor and helpless during the month of Ramadan, and distribution of Iftar items and more. The opportunity to perform Hajj every year under the hospitality of the Saudi government from different countries of the world, including Bangladesh, carries a unique signature of the Saudi government’s support and cooperation for Muslims. He expected the Hajj pilgrims to pray for himself and for the King, Prime Minister, Minister of Islamic Affairs of the Saudi government as well as all concerned. At the end of the ceremony, a gift box containing all the needs of their Hajj pilgrimage; Ihram clothes, a pair of shoes, a waist belt, the Holy Quran Sharif, high-quality Saudi dates, Hajj visa, travel tickets and other necessary things was distributed among the pilgrims.
Among the royal guests present at the farewell reception were Mr. Mohammad Yusuf, Secretary (Senior Secretary) of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Md. Sanaullah, Chairman of the Islamic Studies Department at Dhaka University, Dr. Nurullah, Professor of the Islamic Studies Department at Jagannath University among others. And they will leave for Hajj from Bangladesh on May 29 and return back on June 13.
Meanwhile, it is known that 1,300 pilgrims from 100 countries of the world will perform Hajj as Royal Guests of the Saudi King this year. It is also known that this initiative is also a great way to fulfill the Islamic and humanitarian goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Charge the Affaires of the Saudi Embassy also mentioned in his speech that the Ministry of Islam and Dawah Affairs of Saudi Arabia is implementing this initiative of Khadimul Haramain Al Sharifain King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. This program is a reflection of the responsibility of the Saudi leadership towards the Islamic Ummah. All kinds of preparations have been made to ensure the best service to the guests. In addition to religious and educational programs, there will be programs to visit historical places in Mecca and Medina and meet top scholars. This program has been taken mainly with the aim of increasing friendship with various religious leaders, scholars and thinkers of the world and spreading the Islamic message. It is known that this initiative was taken for the first time in 1417 Hijri. According to the latest information, about 65 thousand Muslims from 140 countries have got this opportunity. Meanwhile, the Saudi government will provide all kinds of support to the guests throughout the Hajj period, including religious, medical, and transportation, said the Saudi Charge the Affaires.
