Online Desk: India suffered another diplomatic humiliation on Thursday at the meeting of Defence Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) when member states refused to back New Delhi’s stance against Pakistan. The two-day moot ended without the issuance of a joint communiqué as India refused to sign the document, citing reservations and claiming the statement to be aligned with Pakistan’s stance.

The draft joint statement did not mention the Pahalgam attack, despite India’s best efforts, but made reference to terrorist incidents in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan. Except India, all other members endorsed the joint statement. What transpired at the crucial meeting of the SCO is yet another manifestation that the international community was no more ready to buy India’s false narrative on terrorism and instead lends credibility to the position adopted by Pakistan.

The development proved a major diplomatic success of Pakistan and a severe blow to India, which is in the habit of hurling baseless allegations against Pakistan at such regional and global gatherings. And this is not without a reason as India has all along been focusing on propaganda devoid of facts and figures whereas Pakistan presented its case effectively and with concrete evidence

At the SCO moot as well, Indian Defence Minister failed to substantiate allegations against Pakistan whereas Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and National Security Advisor Lt. General Asim Malik, who attended the 20th meeting of the Secretaries of the Security Council of SCO member states in Beijing, made logical presentations citing willingness of Pakistan to cooperate in the case of a neutral international probe into Pahalgam incident and referring to the Jaffar Express tragedy caused by Indian agents in Balochistan and arrest of a serving naval officer of India who confessed to financing, planning and perpetrating multiple terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

India is facing embarrassment after embarrassment in the realm of diplomacy and stands isolated because of its unprincipled position and a tendency to establish its hegemony in the region. Apart from the fact that the world is now recognizing India’s real face as far as the issue of terrorism is concerned, New Delhi is also upset over internationalization of the Kashmir issue, which has become a must topic whenever and wherever issues of security and peace are discussed.
