Staff Correspondent: An Iftar and dua mahfil was held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Engineers Institution Bangladesh (IEB) seminar hall in Dhaka, organized by Hizla Upazila Society Dhaka. The event, held on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. Over two hundred people from Hizla attended and created a warm and festive atmosphere.
The event was presided over by Dr Dewan Azad Rahman, Convener of Hizla Upazila Society, while conducted by Kazi Emdad Hossain, Member Secretary of the Society. The speakers emphasized the importance of strengthening brotherhood and unity among the people of Hizla.
The event featured speeches by Advt Mahbubul Alam Dulal, DM Bakibillah, Dr ASM Shafiul Azam (Tuhin), Md Aftab-e-Alam, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Masud, Syed Manzare Alam Ripon, Dewan Oliuddin Sumon, Advocate Monir Dewan, Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman Sumon, Md Hemayet Hossain Sohrab, Md Amir Hossain, MM Rahmatullah and Md Solaiman Howlader among others.
The speakers highlighted that Hizla Upazila Society is not just a social organization, but a strong platform for promoting mutual cooperation, solidarity, and human bonding among the people of Hizla living in Dhaka.
In his presidential address, Dr Dewan Azad Rahman outlined the future plans of the Society, stating that a comprehensive plan would be adopted to promote the overall development and social responsibility of its members. He expressed hope that the organization would become an important social platform for the people of Hizla in the future.
The event was attended by dignitaries, officials, and general members of the Society. A special dua and monajat were held before iftar, praying for the well-being and prosperity of the country, nation, and people of Hizla.
