Tanju Ahmed, Roipur: The government is working relentlessly to stop corruption and harassment in land services and has digitized land management to make services faster and easier for the public, said Lakshmipur-2 MP Abul Khair Bhuiyan on Tuesday.

Speaking as chief guest at the inauguration of the three-day “Land Service Fair 2026” in Raipur, Bhuiyan said the initiative aims to ensure that ordinary citizens can access land services without delay or undue hassle.

“The theme this year is ‘People-friendly automated land management, secure land and a prosperous future,’” he said. The fair, which began at 10 a.m. at the Upazila Land Office premises, is part of a nationwide event running from May 19 to May 21.

Officials said the fair focuses on simplifying land services, raising public awareness about digital platforms, and bringing services directly to marginalized communities.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehadi Hasan Kausar chaired the event. Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nigar Sultana, government officials, public representatives, civil society members, and journalists also attended.

The Land Service Fair 2026 is being held simultaneously in every district and upazila across the country.
