Special Correspondent: Jamaat-e-Islami Central Executive Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Ameer Md. Nurul Islam Bulbul MP has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will successfully remove Qurbani waste even if the city corporation fails to do so.
Speaking as chief guest at a meat distribution program organized by Ramna Samajkallyan Society on Thursday afternoon, he said, “Our past experience shows that the city corporation has always failed to provide proper services, including waste removal. They only make empty promises.”
The event was held at Bailey Road to distribute Qurbani meat among the poor, helpless, and underprivileged ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
Bulbul said Jamaat workers across Dhaka Metropolitan are slaughtering animals and preparing meat for distribution to the needy from morning. He added that he personally visited several areas to take part in the distribution.
Referring to families of July uprising martyrs, he said Jamaat considers every martyr’s family its own and has been fulfilling its humanitarian duty since the beginning. “This will continue in the future. Jamaat has stood, is standing, and will stand by injured July fighters for any of their needs,” he said.
On visiting martyr families on Eid day, he said Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has declared martyr families as Jamaat’s own family. “Following that declaration and instruction, leaders and activists at all levels of the party are carrying out humanitarian duties toward martyr families. Jamaat will continue its uncompromising role in building a just and humane Bangladesh based on the martyrs’ dream,” he said.
Central Working Council member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Nayeb-e-Ameer Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, speaking as special guest, said Jamaat is standing by martyr families and injured July fighters across Dhaka and the country. “To bring Eid joy to martyr families, Jamaat has continued distributing Qurbani animals and providing financial and humanitarian assistance. Jamaat has always been uncompromising in implementing the spirit of July,” he said.
He added, “Those who sacrificed their lives for the country are our national heroes and honored martyrs before Allah. Jamaat will not let the contribution of national heroes go in vain. A new Bangladesh based on the martyrs’ dream will be built under Jamaat-e-Islami, insha’Allah.”
DUCSU VP Abu Sadik Kayem said the lesson of Qurbani is the lesson of sacrifice. “Just as the entire nation made sacrifices in the July movement for building a state based on justice, we must be ready for the future in the same way. When we visit martyr families and hear the cries and aspirations of martyr parents, wives, and children, we are inspired again. We cannot and will not allow any fascism in the new Bangladesh,” he said, calling on Dhaka residents to take an oath against neo-fascism and build a Dhaka for the people.
The meat distribution program was presided over by Ramna Samajkallyan Society Chairman and Dhaka South City Corporation Ward 19 councilor candidate Abdus Sattar Suman. Also present were Dhaka Metropolitan South Working Council member and Social Welfare Secretary Shahin Ahmed Khan, Ramna Samajkallyan Society Secretary Md. Atiqur Rahman, local businessman Abdullah Al Faruk, and other dignitaries from the Ramna area.
