Diyar Guldogan: Türkiye’s president on Friday welcomed the Qatari emir in Istanbul to discuss bilateral ties and attend a strategic meeting.
After one-on-one talks, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will co-chair the eighth meeting of the Türkiye-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee, where all aspects of the bilateral relations are expected to be discussed.
Potential steps towards deepening and advancing bilateral cooperation are also on the meeting’s agenda.
Erdogan and Al-Thani are also expected to sign several agreements to enhance Türkiye-Qatar ties.
The Supreme Strategic Committee was established in 2014 as a bilateral mechanism to form the institutional basis of high-level dialogue and cooperation between the two countries.
