Moon Desk: Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP has started blockade programme again to carry out anarchy in the country.

“BNP is the kingpin of the politics of killing and conspiracy in the country. They have again announced blockade programme to create anarchy,” he told reporters after paying tribute to the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in front of Bangubandhu Bhaban in the city’s Dhanmondi area on the occasion of the Jail Killing Day.

The AL general secretary said there are some hired people of BNP and there are some trained miscreants in the party who set fire to buses and vandalise vehicles. So, the BNP announced its blockade programme to carry out these misdeeds, he said.

Mentioning that BNP is a trusted resort of communal evil forces, he said the party is the main enemy of the nation. The government does not have headache how many blockades the BNP enforces, he said.
Quader said on October 28 last, it was proved once again that BNP was the most reliable resort for communal forces.

The communal evil forces must be resisted and defeated aiming to make secure the democracy, liberation war and independence of this country, he said.

The AL general secretary said on October 28, BNP brutally attacked 24 journalists, killed a policeman and carried out attacks on a hospital and the chief justice’s residence.

A sleeping bus helper was burnt alive, he said, questioning, “Is detention of those, who led these crimes, repressive? Will not the offenders be brought to justice? Will they be able to avoid responsibility for the torture of 24 journalists on that day?”

Quader said the 15 August carnage and the 3 November jail killing in 1975 were interconnected and those were in continuation of the same conspiracy.

On August 15, 1975, there was a plot to annihilate the Bangabandhu’s family, while only Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana were able to escape the carnage as they were abroad, the road transport minister said.

He said on November 3 in 1975, four national leaders, who were organisers of the liberation war and companions of Bangabandhu, were killed inside the jail.

Afterward, on August 21 in 2004, the main target of a grenade attack was to kill Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Quader said.
Earlier, the ruling AL paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths.
