Special Correspondent: AB Party will present state reform and reconstruction as the main issue of consideration to the voters in the upcoming elections.
Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju has given this direction at a discussion meeting with the party’s nomination hopefuls on Saturday. He said, after the fall of a dictatorial government at the cost of the blood of thousands of martyrs, it is not possible to reconstruct and reform the country without consensus. The government has formed a commission to establish consensus and is continuing discussions with all political parties. Although there is agreement on several issues, it has not been possible to reach a consensus on many important issues. Although all parties agree on Article 70 of the Constitution, the political parties have not yet reached a consensus on some important issues including the term and powers of the Prime Minister and the election of the President. Going beyond this, there is also a sharp disagreement on the appointment of institutions stipulated in the Constitution. We have to do politics taking all these into consideration.

AB party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju presided over the event where Party Vice Chairman Lt. Col. (Retd) Helal Uddin moderated it. AB Party founding convener and party advisor AFM Solaiman Chowdhury was present as the chief guest.

AFM Solaiman Chowdhury said in his speech as the chief guest, after the fall of the fascist Awami League government through a bloody mass uprising, the election process has started anew in Bangladesh, where the leaders and activists of my Bangladesh Party have attended this exchange of views with the desire to participate. We formed this party after enduring many sacrifices and hardships, as a result of your patience, sacrifice and hard work, the party has come to the forefront of discussion across the country today. Earlier, we had committees in forty districts, which have now spread to almost all districts. Today, we are holding an exchange of views on preparations for the elections. I hope that you will return from here and expand your organization to all upazila and union levels across the country.

The people of the country should understand that the AB Party has really brought new politics and that it is for them that the reconstruction of a new Bangladesh is possible.
