Chattogram Bureau: AB Party’s Chattogram City Joint Convener Siddiqur Rahman said, the student masses created new history in July and August. Political parties that do not maintain the speed of the July mass uprising will disappear from the political arena in time.
The speed of the July mass uprising is the new politics of rights and problem-solving as opposed to tendering, extortion, mafia, terrorism, corruption, and clan politics. He called on the party leaders and activists to convey the new political statement of the AB Party of rights and problem-solving to the people. Mr. Siddiqur Rahman said, even after fifty-three years since 1971, development has not been ensured by bringing Chittagong under a planned master plan. The Karnaphuli River flowing through Chattogram City is being encroached upon.
The water of the river has become poisonous due to the impurity and all the waste of the city falling into this river. Due to this, various plants and animals, starting from fish, have become unfit to live in this river with immense potential. He spoke about the planned development of Chittagong City, calling on the people to be vocal in preventing the hilly terrain. He presented a proposal to prepare Chattogram City as a modern city by establishing a city government and an independent secretariat. He made the above remarks as the chief guest at the meeting titled “New Politics of Rights and Problem Solving in Building a Self-reliant, Self-respecting Bangladesh After the July Uprising and How Do We Want to See Chittagong City?” organized by AB Party No. 18 East Baklia Ward under the chairmanship of MM Abul Kashem, Organizer of East Baklia Ward No. 18.
