Press Release: Friday is the martyrdom anniversary of late President Ziaur Rahman, one of the founders of the Bangladesh state. Before his death, he dreamed of an exploitation-free Bangladesh. He formed BNP with that aim. In his book ‘My Political Outline’, the late Zia wrote about his dream:

“We dream of building an exploitation-free society. Although this is a very difficult task. It has not been 100 percent successful in any country in the world. Some countries have progressed more and some countries have progressed less. In order to build this exploitation-free society, we have to focus on five things. These five things are food, clothing, education, housing and health. Of these, food is the most necessary. Because without food, people will not survive. Then clothing. If we can overcome shame, then education will come. With the help of these three, it is possible to meet two. To establish an exploitation-free society, there must be a distribution system, which you call ‘equitable distribution”.

In a statement sent to the media on the occasion of Ziaur Rahman’s martyrdom anniversary, the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) paid deep tribute to him. AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju and General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad said, Ziaur Rahman was one of the founders of the country. He adopted ‘Bangladeshi Nationalism’ as the ideology of his new party. He thought that he would build an exploitation-free society based on this ideology. After his death, the party he founded, BNP, was in power twice. The dream of an exploitation-free society has not been realized even today. One of the main reasons for this is the unlimited corruption and looting of politicians.

The late Zia wanted to unite the nation and for this purpose, he wrote in his book, “We have implemented multi-party democracy. Many have said many things. But we have to move forward through this process. Our main objective is to unite the people. To unify. Where the nation was divided. The nation must be united through multi-party democracy and this must be done through Bangladeshi nationalism.“

The leaders said, the Bangladesh we see today, 44 years after the death of Shaheed Zia, there is no unity, no multi-party democracy. There is division based on ideology and doctrine. As a party, BNP has not been able to provide the nation with the right leadership to restore the rights of the oppressed people and the disappeared democracy for the past 17 years. In such a situation, the current generation of Bangladeshis are forced to talk about new politics and form a new political party. AB Party is one such initiative.

AB Party’s goal is to establish an exploitation-free, corruption-free and democratic welfare state, the basis of which will be the three fundamental principles declared in the Declaration of Independence – equality, human dignity and social justice. We pray for the forgiveness of Ziaur Rahman’s soul, may Allah accept him as a martyr.
