Md. Mizanur Rahman Akanda, Phulpur: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Sharif Ahmed, former MP of Mymensingh-2 constituency (Phulpur-Tarakanda), former State Minister for Housing and Public Works, on charges of acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 38.35 crore.
The case was filed against him last Thursday. In addition, the ACC said that suspicious transactions worth Tk 42.68 crore were made in his 12 bank accounts. At a briefing, ACC Director General Akhter Hossain told reporters that the former State Minister’s wife Shefali Begum, father-in-law Golam Mostafa, mother-in-law Jahanara Begum, brothers-in-law Shah Alam and Shamim have been issued notices to submit their asset declarations after huge amounts of assets were found in their names and identities.
