Staff Correspondent: The president of Bangladesh Muslim League, former MP Advt Badruddoja Souza has requested to be relieved from the post of party president on July 24, 2024 due to physical illness. An emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee of Bangladesh Muslim League was held at the central office of the party on August 11, 2024 at 11.00 am under the chairmanship of Executive President Abdul Aziz Howladar to discuss and taking decisions on various organizational issues. The resignation letter of Mr. Badruddoja Souza was accepted in the meeting. Thereafter, on the proposal of the Executive President Abdul Aziz Howlader, internationally renowned lawyer Advocate Mohsin Rashid was unanimously nominated as the Acting President of the party. Party Secretary General Kazi Abul Khair, Standing Committee members Atiqul Islam and Anwar Hossain Aburi, Vice President Nazrul Islam, Syed Abdul Hannan Noor, Additional Secretary General Akbar Hossain Pathan and Kazi AA Kafi, Organizing Secretary Khan Asad, Working Committee members participated in the meeting. Sheikh A Sabur, Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, Sheikh Md Abu Zafar, Khandaker Zillur Rahman, Khandaker Ziauddin, Mohammad Noor Alam, Tajul Islam Taju, Abdul Alim among others. Unable to attend due to political unrest, members from various districts virtually agreed with the decisions taken in the meeting.
The meeting expressed concern over the deterioration of the law and order situation in the country and called on the interim government to restore peace and order in the country by taking immediate legal action against those who are conspiring and trying to destabilize the country.
