Corporate Desk: The 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. has approved 10% Cash Dividend and 5% Stock Dividend for the year ended on 31 December 2023 held on 22 August 2024, Thursday. Chairman of the Bank Alhajj Salim Rahman presided over the meeting.
Vice Chairman of the Board Alhajj Abu Naser Mohammad Yeahea, Directors Alhajj Md. Abdus Salam, Alhajj Md. Abdul Hamid Miah, Alhajj Mahbub Ahmed, Hafez Alhajj Md. Enayet Ullah, Alhajj Ahamedul Hoque, Alhajj Niaz Ahmed, Alhajj Liakat Ali Chowdhury, Alhajj Md. Anowar Hossain, Alhajj Nasir Uddin, Alhajj Md. Rafiqul Islam, Managing Director and CEO Farman R. Chowdhury and large number of Shareholders were present in the meeting. Directors Alhajj Abdus Samad Labu, Alhajj Mohammed Emadur Rahman, Alhajj Anwar Hossain, Md. Kamrul Hasan Siddiqui, Quazi Osman Ali and A.A.M. Zakaria attended the meeting virtually. Company Secretary Mohammed Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan proposed the agenda in the meeting.
The Bank achieved growth of 7.29% in Deposit and 10.50% in Investment during the year 2023 compared to the previous year. Earnings Per Share (EPS) of the Bank stood at Tk. 2.14 in 2023. The Shareholders participated in the review of the overall performance of the Bank and expressed their satisfaction. They made some valuable suggestions for improvement of performance and image of the Bank.
The Chairman of the Bank Alhajj Salim Rahman thanked the Shareholders for the confidence entrusted on the Board of Directors.
