Moo Desk: Since Modi came into power, Hindu right-wing groups such as RSS have expanded their influence across much of India’s government, particularly over new education policies.
BJP government turned education into a laboratory of the RSS for its political scores. Recently, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Managing Committee decided to remove the books of Pakistani authors Maulana Abul Ala Maududi and Syed Qutub from the syllabus.
These books were included in the syllabus of the Department of Islamic Studies. These books were taught in AMU’s BA and MA classes.
This decision has been taken in response to a recent letter that was written by extremist RSS activist and academician Madhu Kishwar, along with some other RSS-BJP minded academicians to Indian PM Modi, in which the books of these authors were demanded not to be taught to the students.”
In this regard, Head Professor Muhammad Ismail of the Islamic Studies Department said that the board has decided to remove all the books from the curriculum which are written by Pakistani authors, adding that these books have been taught for a long time and they do not promote anything controversial.
R Mahalakshmi, Professor at the Center for Historical Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University said, “The proposed changes are matter of great concern, as clearly it is not academic considerations but the politics of our times that is the deciding factor.”
Saffronization of India would, for sure, bring devastating consequences for the Indian people, particularly the oppressed minorities.
If Modi does not put an end to this racial and religious prejudice orchestrated by his patronized saffron terrorists, the civil war stretching across India seems inevitable.
