Staff Correspondent: The kulkhani of late Anjuman Ara Begum, wife of veteran freedom fighter, former president of Feni District Chhatra League, former VP Principal of Feni College, Abu Taher Bhuiyan, was held. To pray for the forgiveness of the departed soul of the deceased, on December 21 at Bishnapur in Comilla city and on December 22 at his home in Rampura, Dhaka, Quran Khatam, Doa Mahfil and Tabarak were distributed among the needy.
Anjuman Ara Begum passed away on the night of December 18 under treatment. He was ill for several days. He is survived by numerous relatives and well-wishers including 2 sons and 1 daughter. She was laid to rest next to her husband’s grave in Bishnupur Maulvipara Poksha Baba Darga in Comilla city.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, Minister of Communications and Bridges Obaidul Quader, Dhaka Journalist Union, Feni Journalist Forum Dhaka, Cumilla Reporters Unity, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Santan Sangsad expressed deep grief over his death.
Sajjad Hossain Chishti, the eldest son of the deceased, is a member of DUJ, BFUJ, Feni Journalist Forum Dhaka and Chittagong Division Journalist Forum Dhaka. Besides, Chishti was a former member of the Jubo League Central Committee. Currently, he is a member of the Bangladesh Awami League Central Information and Research Sub-Committee and one of the members of the Bangladesh Awami League 12th National Parliament Election Management Committee. The deceased’s younger son Sami Hussain Chishti is the Director of Sydney University and Assistant Professor of Notre Dame University and only daughter Mehzabeen Akhter Dayna is working in government service.
