M A Mannan, Bhola: Slogans demanding justice for the attack on Faruk Master, the panel chairman, South Digholdi Union Council of Bhola sadar, resounded the air across Banglabazar.
The locals organized this human chain in the Banglabazar area of Bhola-Charfashan highway on Tuesday at 10:00 am.
Union BNP President Harun Dewan, Secretary Ismail Kazi, Joint General Secretary Shah Newaz Monir, Joint General Secretary Abdul Mateen Dewan spoke at the humanchain.
Protesters, both women and men, young and old took to the streets, forming human chains to protest against the attack on Monday.
In an unprecedented show of demand for justice, leaders of the Union BNP including civil society came out on the streets in thousands at Bangla Bazar and its suburbs.
Earlier on Monday (September 9) there was a terrorist attack on Faruk Master. The local people rescued him and admitted him to Bhola Sadar Hospital. He is under treatment in the hospital in critical condition.
Faruk Master said, terrorists have been demanding money from me for the past few days. I was going to the Union Parishad as a routine work around 10 am, a little ahead of the house, 7/8 terrorists led by some Suman attacked me and ran away with a bang.
It is to be noted that Awami League government Chief Sheikh Hasina resigned due to the student uprising on October 5. After that, Faruk Master was given the responsibility of panel chairman. Faruk Master was the headmaster of a local govt primary school. Besides, he has been a successful member for the past three consecutive times. He was given the responsibility as he was deemed worthy. A case is under process in this incident.
