City Desk: Bangladesh Justice Party congratulated the winners of the unprecedented mass movement of students in the political history of the subcontinent. An urgent press release sent to the media by party spokesperson Shamim Mia said:

  1. Bangladesh Justice Party congratulates the winners of the unprecedented mass movement of the students in the political history of the subcontinent and also wishes for the salvation of the souls of all the young children, students and common people who were martyred, missing, murdered, shot dead by the dictator Sheikh Hasina’s fascist government.
  2. Bangladesh Justice Party expresses its sincere condolences to the injured and killed political party workers, professionals, victims of repression, ordinary people, their struggle and sacrifices and their struggling family members and for this brutal massacre. The dictator Sheikh Hasina and those involved in it are demanding justice by immediately bringing the international community under the aid law. They are demanding the cancellation of all false cases and the withdrawal of harassment cases and the release of all political party leaders and workers.
  3. Bangladesh Justice Party supported the quota demand of tender students from the beginning but since it was not a political programme, it agreed to their movement like other democratic political forces.
  4. We demand that our martyred freedom fighters and the wounded of the Second Liberation War should be given proper national respect by arranging respectable accommodation, rations and allowances for them and their family members from the national budget. In this movement, we demand that the martyrs be awarded the title of “Deshtarka” and the injured “Deshbhakt”.
  5. We think that at this moment, His Excellency the President should issue an ordinance to directly appoint skilled people to various important positions in the country, clean up the autocratic mess of the past 16 years, amend the existing discriminatory RPO-1972, remove the discriminatory party registration system, and create a participatory system with all political parties in the future. Arrange for elections and dissolve the existing National Parliament or by declaring them ineligible to introduce an interim Parliament with eminent persons from all levels of the country who will serve for the remainder of the existing Parliament.
  6. We wish the souls of all those injured and killed in this great student movement 2024 to rest in peace and express our sincere condolences to their family members. No one has the ability to value an exceptionally talented student, but demanding for their families to be rehabilitated. To remember their memory I propose to declare a three-day national day and keep the national flag at half-mast.
  7. The above opinion was expressed on 05-08-2024 in a meeting presided over by Dr Syed Javed Mohammad Salehuddin, President of Bangladesh Justice Party.
