Shamsuddin Parvez and Secretary General Muhammad Abu Hanif have expressed deep condolences on the death of eminent Islamic thinker, former Chief Election Commissioner and former Justice of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh Muhammad Abdur Rauf.
Former Chief Election Commissioner, former judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, and Honorable Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) Bangladesh, Justice Mohammad Abdur Rauf has passed away. (Innalillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un)
He passed away at 10 am today, Sunday (February 9) while undergoing treatment at Insaf Barakah Hospital.
His contribution to the development of Bangladesh’s judicial system and democracy was immense. He served as the president of the National Children’s and Adolescent Organization ‘Fulkuri Asar’ for a long time. We pray that Allah Almighty may have mercy on him, forgive him and make him a guest of Allah Almighty’s Paradise on his long journey to eternity, they added.
