
Syed Atik, Tongi: The construction work of about one kilometer of road has been inaugurated in Tongi, an industrial city, by the initiative of BSCIC Industrial City Owners Welfare Association.
The road of public importance was inaugurated by BSCIC Industrial City Officer Md. Jamil Hossain.
On Tuesday afternoon, construction work of about one kilometer of road was started from the water tank junction of the Pagar River, Bandar Road, to Miraspara Amtoli.
Present at the time were Tongi BSCIC Industrial City Owners Welfare Association President Syed Tanvir Hossain, General Secretary and prominent theater personality Ehsanul Haque Selim, Co-President Md. Shimul Ahmed, Treasurer Md. Emdadul Islam Russell, Publicity Secretary Hafizur Rahman Babu, Gasik Ward 45 BNP former president Salahuddin, Tongi East Thana Sramik Dal general secretary Abdul Jalil, Metropolitan Sramik Dal member Golam Mia and others.
It is known that this 20-foot wide and approximately 300-foot road in the BSCIC industrial area of Tongi Zone of Gazipur City Corporation has been potholed and unusable for a long time. The work on the road was started with the own funds of the Tongi BSCIC Industrial City Owners’ Welfare Association without receiving any allocation from the City Corporation.
After the construction of the road, the residents of the area will be able to easily access the main road and there will be no more obstacles to the movement of vehicles of industrial companies.
