
Special Correspondent: A delegation of Chinese doctors and nurses has arrived in Dhaka to provide medical assistance to those injured in the plane crash. They landed at Shahjalal International Airport around 11pm on Thursday.
The Chinese embassy said that the delegation includes two burn specialist doctors and three nurses from Wuhan Third Hospital in Hubei Province. They are carrying necessary medicines, surgical supplies and other medical equipment.
The Chinese medical team was welcomed at the airport by Syeda Jasmine Sultana Milky, Director General of the Global Health Emergency Response Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen.
The delegation will visit the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Friday to provide treatment and necessary advice to the injured. If necessary, they will recommend advanced treatment in China.
Chinese and Bangladeshi doctors have already conducted video consultations (tele-consultations) to ensure advanced treatment for the injured in the accident. At the request of the Bangladesh government, experts from Kunming Medical University’s affiliated hospitals jointly discussed treatment plans for the seriously injured with doctors from the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute.
