
Special Correspondent: The Iftar Mahfil of the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) was held recently. The event took place on Friday in Segunbagicha. CRAB President Mirza Mehdi Tamal presided over the event, while CRAB General Secretary M. M. Badshah delivered the welcome speech.
During the first part of the event, prizes were distributed to the winners of the Qur’an recitation, Hamd, and Naat competition, organized by CRAB. The competition, held on March 18, was open to CRAB members’ children, with 20 participants.
Distinguished guests at the event included DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sajjat Ali, BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Moazzem Hossain Alal, Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka City South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, National Press Club General Secretary Ayub Bhuiyan, General Secretary of the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad, Nurul Haque Nur of the Gano Adhikar Parishad, President of the Dhaka Journalists Union Shahidul Islam, President of the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) Abu Saleh Akon, First Secretary (Political, Media, and Information) of the Indian High Commission Gokul V. K. AIG (Media) of the Police Headquarters Inamul Haque Sagar, RAB Legal and Media Affairs Director Lt. Colonel Ashikur Rahman, Police Department’s Information Officer AKM Kamrul Ahsan, Border Guard Bangladesh’s Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam, DMP Media and Public Relations DC Mohammad Talebur Rahman, among others were present among others.
BNP’s Moazzem Hossain Alal said in his speech that he was pleased to hear that CRAB organizes such competitions every year. He expressed hope that, as in the past, CRAB’s journalist members will continue to play an important role in the national interest in the future.
Jamaat Leader Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud emphasized the immense role of journalists from all political backgrounds in achieving national unity.
He also acknowledged that crime reporters always work in risky situations and stated that he is ready to respond whenever CRAB calls for the country’s interests.
Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuaad from the AB Party highlighted the sacrifices made by CRAB members during the July movement.
Nurul Haque Nur expressed his gratitude to CRAB for inviting him to the event.
