Staff Correspondent: A new committee of the Chattogram Hill Tracts Association – Dhaka has been formed, uniting residents of the hill districts currently living in the capital.
Journalist AHM Faruq has been selected as Convenor, while Mitayon Chakma will serve as Senior Joint Convenor while Revenue Officer Md Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan has been named Member Secretary.
The committee formation was announced at a meeting held on Friday afternoon at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University, which was attended by more than a hundred distinguished individuals from the three hill districts.
The newly formed committee also includes Joint Convenors: Bakher Uddin, journalist Ayon Ahmed, banker Abul Kalam Azad, Advocate Nazmul Hasan (Nizam), Aminul Haque, Barrister Ishtiaq Hossain Jisam, Didarul Alam, and Ayesha Khatun. Besides, Advocate Abu Taher Rony, Jahangir Alam Apu, Ahmed Hossain, IT expert Nadim Majid, Ibrahim Khalil (Opi), Al Amin Ahmed, Rafiqul Islam, Zaker Hossain Shahin, and Abdullah Al Mamun Khokon have been made as Joint Member Secretaries of the organization.
