Moon Desk: A Dalit woman was assaulted by a temple head in Bengaluru city of the Indian state of Karnataka.
A video of a woman being kicked, dragged and beaten with sticks in the temple is making rounds on social media.
Indian media reported that the victim Hemavathi lodged a complaint with police stating she was severely tortured by Munikrishna, a head of the Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Amruthahalli locality of Karnataka on December 21, 2022.
The video shows the woman being repeatedly slapped, held by hair and dragged outside. The man can be seen beating her with stick even as she runs for cover.
