Diplomatic Correspondent: His Excellency Yao Wen, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, invited the Vice-President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, and other secretaries and a formal meeting was convened at the Embassy of China in Bangladesh with distinguished representatives of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU). The newly appointed Treasurer of DUCSU and Chairman of the Finance Department, Professor Dr. H.M. Mosharraf Hossain was present there on behalf of the President of DUCSU, Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan.

During the meeting, the DUCSU representatives expressed their expectations for collaborative efforts in infrastructural development, increasing residential facilities, and economic and cultural cooperation.

Discussions highlighted that construction of the proposed China-Bangladesh Friendship Hall, which will accommodate 5,000 female students, is set to begin within this year. DUCSU leaders proposed the construction of two additional halls for students, and the Ambassador assured cooperation in implementing this in the second phase. Additionally, he expressed interest in mutual cooperation through various initiatives in science and technology, sports, health, scholarships, research, and cultural activities.

On behalf of the newly elected DUCSU representatives, a memento was presented to the Ambassador, and the Chinese Ambassador reciprocated by presenting a token of appreciation to the DUCSU representatives.
