Special Correspondent: Dhaka University Friends Forum 1996-97 organized a day-long business summit on January 25, 2025 at “Uttara Club Ltd.” organized by friends.
Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC, was the chief guest and Mr. Nitai Roy Chowdhury, a renowned advocate and former minister was present as the keynote speaker, while Salma Seema of the same batch student moderated the event.
More than 80 friends from different professions, including businessmen, bankers, government officials and journalists of DU 1996-97 batches were present at the business summit. The chief guest and keynote speaker at the business summit discussed various issues of business and banking. There was a discussion on how bankers can support businessmen and how businessmen can benefit from the cooperation of banks. The friends present shared their experiences about their business, establishment as businessmen, possibilities and obstacles.
The Duff Summit held at Uttara Club Ltd. was a great success. Friends who organized the Duff Business Summit, their first such event, showed great success. All the friends present at the event said that they got a great experience from this event. They expressed hope that they will be able to take their business to a better level in the future. All the friends who are not directly involved in business also received various directions for starting a business in the future.
The chief guest Mr. Syed Mahbubur Rahman also discussed how to provide loans, how to fund imports and exports and the limitations in all these areas. He also answered various questions on this subject.
Keynote speaker Mr. Nitai Roy inspired everyone present in business. He said in his speech that only 55 misguided people formed the East India Company and ruled the whole of Bengal and India for 200 years. If there is dedication and a mentality of not giving up in business, then business can be established. He also talked about keeping humanity connected with business. He inspired everyone that in his long professional life and political life, he has handled the responsibilities of big positions with a mentality of service. We may establish ourselves in business in this society through the right goals, hard work and service mentality.
