MM Rahmatullah: The Economic Express Editor-in-Chief Muhammad Abdullah has been appointed Managing Director (MD) of Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust (BJWT).

He was the former Secretary General and President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ). He also served as the former president of Feni Journalists Association. Bangladesh’s renowned journalist, columnist, TV talk show personality and organizer M Abdullah previously served as city editor of Daily Amar Desh for a long time. Prior to joining Daily Amar Desh he was serving in various media. He has been appointed for the next two years from the date of his joining, subject to severing work relationships with other institutions and organizations, said the notification.

Earlier on Wednesday, the notification signed by the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, ATM Shariful Alam, informed that according to Section 10(2) of the Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust Act, 2014, Muhammad Abdullah has to renounce his work-relationship with other institutions and organizations for the next 2 (two) years from the date of joining, Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust has been appointed him as Managing Director. It also informed that the other terms and conditions of this appointment will be determined by the approved contract.

On behalf of The Economic Express family, Muhammad Abdullah has been congratulated by Editor and Publisher Amir Hossain Jony. People of different classes and professions including Journalists and organizers also congratulated Muhammad Abdullah for being appointed Managing Director of Journalist Welfare Trust.

Journalist M Abdullah is married in his personal life. He traveled to various countries in the world including the USA, France, Britain, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Pakistan and India.
