Online Desk: A friendly meeting was organized with expatriates at Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur, where AB Party Malaysia convener Dr. Belal Hossain presided over the event On Thursday.
AB Party Central Executive Council member and Youth Party convener Shahadatullah Tutul was the chief guest while prominent businessman and AB Party leader Dr. Sehel Masud was the special guest in the event.
Shahadatullah Tutul said that in 1970, two-thirds of the Malay population lived under the poverty line. Due to good planning and competent leadership, today’s modern Malaysia has achieved enviable development. But during the same period, Bangladesh has become a champion in corruption and misrule. Undemocratic government and family-based politics are responsible for this. He said that all citizens in the country participated in the student-youth-people movement except the beneficiaries of the fascist Awami League. The expatriates stopped sending remittances to the country as a strategy of the movement, creating additional pressure on the Hasina government in particular. As a result, the undemocratic government was forced to flee. He said that the Bangladesh Embassy should show more sincerity for the welfare of the expatriates. The remittance warriors who play a role in the country’s economy should be properly evaluated. He highlighted the activities of the AB Party in building the country for the expatriates and sought their support.
Engineer Mujibur Rahman, AB Party Gazipur District and City Joint Member Secretary Md. Badrul Huda Khan, Dr Belal Hossain, Mahmudul Hasan, Malaysian youth leader Hossain Ahmed, Md. Saheb Ali, Anwar Hossain, Lutfar Rahman Khan, Rudra Parvez, Imtiaz Ahmed Ivan, Md. Milton Hossain, Kazi Mahmudul Hasan were also present among others in the meeting.
