
Diplomatic Desk: The High Commission for Pakistan, Dhaka organised an event today to observe “Youm-e-Istehsal” (Exploitation Day) to express solidarity with the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The event was attended by members of the Pakistani community and local media representatives.
Messages of President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Senator Mohammed Ishaq Dar were read out on the occasion.
In their messages, leadership of Pakistan reiterated call on the global community to hold India accountable for its illegal actions and crimes against the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) while renewing Pakistan’s commitment to just struggle of the occupied Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
The Prime Minister in his message reiterated that seeking a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains a key pillar of our foreign policy and called upon the international community to urge India to halt its human rights crimes in IIOJK; reverse its unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019; repeal the draconian laws; and implement the UN Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.
President Asif Ali Zardari in his message highlighted the resounding success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as a moment of national pride and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic, and moral support to the people of IIOJK for the fullest realization of their legitimate rights.
Video documentaries highlighting the continued Indian brutalities in the IIOJK and the resounding success of Pakistan’s Operation ‘Bunyanum Marsoos’ in the conflict against India were shown to the audience. A Photographic exhibition depicting struggle of Kashmiris against the atrocities of Indian occupation forces was also organized on the sideline of the event.
In his remarks, Charge d’ Affairs (a.i), Mr. Muhammad Wasif provided insights into the grave human rights abuses committed by Indian occupation forces against Kashmiris. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong resolve to continue raising the Jammu & Kashmir dispute at all relevant fora until India reverses all its unilateral and illegal measures taken since 5 August 2019 and grant the Kashmiri people their inalienable right to self-determination as per their wishes and UN Security Council resolutions.
