Diplomatic Correspondent: The High Commission for Pakistan in Bangladesh hosted a grand reception in celebration of Pakistan Day, commemorating the historic occasion with grace and fervor. The event held in local hotel and attended by over 350 guests brought together dignitaries, diplomats, members of political parties, corporate executives, representatives of media, academia and think tanks and prominent members of Paksitani diaspora in Bangladesh.
Minister for Planning, Major General (R) Abdus Salam MP, a senior member of the cabinet, represented the Bangladeshi government as the Chief Guest. Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh, Mr. Masud Bin Momen also attended the reception.
Guests were treated to an evening of cultural splendor, featuring Pakistan’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, architectural splendor and a delectable array of Pakistani cuisine.
Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ahmed Maroof and the Chief Guest, Major General (R) Abdus Salam MP, Minister for Planning, emphasized the significant potential for enhancing relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh in trade, commerce, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people contacts in their speeches. The Planning Minister of Bangladesh extended congratulations to the High Commission and the people of Pakistan on Pakistan’s National Day and conveyed felicitations to the newly elected government of Pakistan.
The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest, Foreign Secretary, government officials, members of media and Pakistani diaspora for gracing the event with their presence.
