Sarpanch Neena Yadav wrote to the in charge of the Dahina police station on Friday. The letter, on the official letterhead of the Sarpanch, came to light after a journalist shared it through her Twitter handle.
“We humbly request that in view of communal violence in Nuh, the panchayat of our village Zainabad and all villagers have decided that members of the Muslim community alias miscreants will not be allowed to do any kind of business or set up shops in the village,” reads the letter.
The Sarpanch claimed that they want to stop cases of theft, especially that of cattle, indirectly accusing Muslims of committing theft in the village. She also claimed that they are doing this for their safety and a peaceful atmosphere.
The letter also said that they have asked all shopowners renting their properties to submit the IDs of their tenants to the police station.

On Sunday, a Hindu maha panchayat in Tighra village supported the accused who allegedly set a mosque on fire in Guruguram and killed its imam Hafiz Saad. The maha panchayat has called for an economic boycott of Muslims.
“We need to boycott them. Check their I-cards and if it’s a Muslim, don’t give them home or your shop. Opt to buy stuff from your Hindu brothers and employ only them as your house helps and even the meat shops should be given to Hindu Valmikis or anybody who wants to run it,” the maha panchayat’s directive was quoted by The Tribune as saying.
Addressing the crowd, BJP councillor Brahm Yadav said: “Don’t rent out houses or shops to Muslims, verify with aadhar cards before letting out properties…”
“Muslim-owned shops were attacked and torched by Hindutva mob, mosques were vandalised, then govt bulldozed Muslim houses and shops, now Hindu leaders are calling for the boycott of Muslims. ‘Mother Of Democracy’,” Asif Khan, a social media activist said.
