Faruk Ahmed, Magura: BNP leaders Gholam Azam Sabu and Jahangir Alam Khan Bachchu led a human bandh in Mohammadpur upazila to protest against the efforts of BNP leaders and the general public to file harassment cases to serve personal interests. On Tuesday, Mohammadpur Bazar upazila BNP, affiliates and allied organizations and the general public in Mohammadpur protested in the traffic square.
Mohammedpur Upazila BNP Convener Principal Maimur Ali Mridha, General Secretary Aktaruzzaman, Senior Vice President Advocate Monirul Islam Mukul, District Committee Vice President Principal Matiur Rahman, Raicuddin, Secretary Advocate Hasan Habib Khan Mohan, Thana Joint Convenor Mohidul Islam, Convener Jubo Dal Tariqul Islam, Convenor Volunteer Dal Ariful Zaman Milton, Member Secretary Zahidur Rahman, Student Dal President Nur Shikder, College Chhatra Dal President, District Jubo Dal Member Md Shamim Hossain along with about 1000 leaders and workers of 8 unions.
Maimur Ali Mridha, convening president of Mohammadpur Upazila BNP, said, “Dear brothers, you know that on August 5, the dictator Sheikh Hasina was removed from the chest of Bangladesh and Bangladesh was reborn again and Bangladesh entered the new era of independence. We will make this freedom meaningful, we will reshape this country, this is our promise and this is our conviction. In order to enjoy the peace of that new freedom, we will not let all kinds of corruption, all kinds of discrimination, all kinds of extortion and all kinds of bad deeds from Bangladesh. We will say we will do no evil, we will be with good and we will do well. Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chief National Leader Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman Zia have given clear directions for building and building a new Bangladesh. We will not have any discrimination between Hindus and Muslims and we will all work together to build Bangladesh. But very sad things are seen in Mohammadpur who have not been with the Bangladesh Nationalist Party for 15 years, have not played any role in any street, have not come to the party’s rally meeting. Those who supported the Awami League and the dictatorial government strengthened their hand and benefited themselves. Today they are trying to extort money and corruption by breaking the name of the party to create a chaotic environment in this beautiful Bangladesh. We will all collectively resist corruption and extortionists who are greedy for this opportunity, Inshallah. By purifying the party, good people will have a place in the party. The purpose of the Hindu brothers is that after the next 1 month you will observe Durga Puja without fear. If necessary, we will support the leaders and workers of BNP by forming a committee and the soldiers of the nationalist party will cooperate. Give us the list of names of those who extorted and committed misdeeds from government and private offices.
