Rayhan Ahmed, Mymensingh: Despite various efforts by the government, a considerable number of illegal brick kilns continue to put hazardous impacts on the environment and people of Haluaghat upazila in Mymensingh.
Under the direction of Mr. Director of Department of Environment, Mymensingh Divisional Office, two brick kilns named M/s FAB Bricks and M/s Doel Bricks located in Haluaghat Upazila of Mymensingh district were fined Tk 10 lac on Tuesday. M/s Hamza Bricks were completely dismantled. Mr. Abdullah Al Mansoor, Deputy Director and Executive Magistrate of Department of Environment, Mymensingh Divisional Office, acted as judge in the mobile court and Mr. Rookon Miah, Inspector of Department of Environment, Mymensingh District Office, gave prosecution. Besides, Mr. Mahbubul Islam, inspector of Mymenarsingh district office, was present at the mobile court and provided full cooperation. Such mobile courts will continue to operate.
