Moon Desk: Indian troops launched a search operation in Jammu district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media, the troops and the personnel of Special Operation Group (SOG) of police launched the operation in vast forest belts near Balaji temple in Mujeen area on the outskirts of Jammu city.

As per Indian officials, the operation was carried out after detecting suspicious activity in the area. Further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concern over the continued illegal detention of Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman Advocate Abdu Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Hurriyat Chairman Masarat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fahmeeda Sofi, and other leaders had been unjustly imprisoned in politically motivated cases.

He said that these Kashmiri detainees were being subjected to inhuman treatment and denied even basic medical and legal facilities by the jail authorities. He deplored that these prisoners continue to face persecution for raising voice for the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination.
