MM Rahmatullah: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Deputy Amir, ATM Azharul Islam MP, has called upon the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to take oath on the July Accord in the first session of the 13th National Parliament, scheduled for March 12.
Addressing an Iftar gathering organized by Chawkbazar South Thana of Jamaat-e-Islami at Kara Convention Center in Bakhshibazar, Dhaka, Azharul Islam stated that the July Accord is a product of the July 2024 movement, and denying it would be equivalent to negating the revolution and their own existence.
He emphasized that the people of Bangladesh have many hopes and aspirations, and it is the responsibility of the state to fulfill them. The July movement was a struggle for a new Bangladesh, free from fascism, and the people have elected representatives to the parliament to achieve this goal.
Azharul Islam also highlighted the significance of Ramadan, urging attendees to use the month of fasting to bring about positive change in their lives and to refrain from injustices.
The event was presided over by Mawlana Anisur Rahman, Amir of Chawkbazar South Thana, and attended by prominent leaders, including Abdus Sabur Fakir, Naib Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan South, and Haji Hafiz Enayet Ullah, a renowned businessman and social worker.
