Staff Correspondent: Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University-JKKNIU administration has not yet been able to overcome the bus crisis of students. Although almost two decades have passed since the establishment of the university.

JKKNIU administration has been assured of increasing the number of buses at various times, but it has not been implemented. Therefore, students are constantly facing extreme difficulties in their commute.
New Transport Administrator Dr Ahmed Shakil Hashmi organized an open discussion meeting on transportation problems and ways out on January 13 at 3″00 pm. Dissatisfaction with the transportation service was expressed in the discussion. Demands were raised to increase the number of buses, increase trips, and start Dhaka-bound buses.
Tofail Islam, a student of the 2019-20 academic year said at the discussion meeting, ‘Although the number of students in the university increases every year, transportation is not increasing in proportion. If the unfit vehicles are replaced with new buses and GPS trackers are added, the suffering of students will be reduced.’
Transport Administrator Dr Ahmed Shakil Hashmi said, “We have a special focus on resolving the transportation problems of students. The Vice Chancellor, Treasurer and Registrar of the university are sincere in this regard. We are trying our best to resolve the transportation problems by considering the suffering of the students. We will take necessary measures and resolve the problems in a very short time.”
