Rajshahi Bureau: Journalist Liaquat acquitted in fake magistrate and false extortion case in Rajshahi.
The learned court acquitted journalist Liakut Hossen after the evidence on Monday.
Liakut works in the National Daily Mukta Khabar. When he went to collect the news, he was arrested and framed in a false case by the biscuit merchant Abdur Rauf. Abdur Rauf owns a biscuit factory in Bagmara. Plaintiff Abdur Rauf made a false case that the journalists demanded Tk 5,000 as a mobile court magistrate. The case was pending in court for a long time. The court of Additional District Judge-3 acquitted Liakut after the evidence proved that the journalist innocent.
In this regard, journalist Liakut Hossen said, “I was acquitted in a false case. The case was pending in the court for a long time. The judge acquitted me after proving the evidence. However, in this incident, I have suffered financial loss along with loss of dignity. Even then,I’m grateful and thanks to you all.”
