
City Desk: The country can be recognized globally as a safe blood supplier if just two percent of its youth donate blood once a year.
Youth population of the country is 50 million while demand for blood is 1.0 million per year.
These were shared by the speakers while addressing a reception and gathering of youth blood donors at IDEB bhaban on Sunday.
Quantum Foundation organised the programme with the theme ‘let save hundreds of lives with my blood’
QF Chief Coordinator Nahar Al Bokhari presided over the programme where Vice Chancellor of Netrokona University Professor Dr Khandaker Mohammad Ashraful Munim was present as chief guest.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Olympiad Committee Munir Hasan also attended as special guest. Director Motivier of QF Rezaul Hasan delivered a welcome speech on the occasion.
The VC made a clarion call to the youth blood donors to continue the noble work and praised the QF for inspiring the youth to humanitarian work.
The QF has now half a million donor pools and has donated so far 1.7 million unit bloods since 2000.
