Special Correspondent: Bangladesh Justice Party Chairman Dr. Syed Javed Mohammad Salehuddin and other political party leaders have expressed deep concern over the terrorist attack on NCP’s ‘March to Gopalganj’ program in Gopalganj and expressed strong condemnation and protest over the failure of law and order forces. They also demanded immediate arrest of the attackers and exemplary punishment.
In a joint statement after a meeting held at the Bangladesh Justice Party’s Motijheel office on Wednesday (July 16) afternoon, national leaders of various political parties said that on Wednesday, terrorists attacked NCP leaders’ vehicles with the aim of killing them during the NCP’s pre-announced ‘March to Gopalganj’ program in Gopalganj district with the nefarious intention of killing them and also attacked the office of the Gopalganj District SP where they were staying. A large number of NCP leaders and activists and the general public were injured in the terrorist attack. Terrorists have caused extensive damage to the government and people’s property by setting fire. In today’s meeting, we strongly condemn and protest against such incidents of terrorism, anarchy, and arson and call on the countrymen to take appropriate legal action against the attackers and to build a united and strong public resistance against fascism. We believe that in such a situation, it will never be possible for the interim government to hold fair elections across the country. The duty of the conscientious people and patriotic political parties of the country is to express full support to the current government at this moment and provide all-round cooperation to the government.
Bangladesh Justice Party Chairman Dr. Syed Javed Mohammad Salehuddin was present in this meeting, which was moderated by People’s Power Party Chairman Sarbjanab Fakhrul Ahsan Rana, People’s Party Vice Chairman Md. Abdul Matin, Sonar Bangla Party Secretary Syed Harun, Bangladesh Justice Party Vice Chairman Rafiqul Islam, and others.
