Special Correspondent: Bangladesh Justice Party President Dr. Syed Zaved Mohammad Salehuddin and General Secretary Mr. Mansur Alam Sikder said in a joint statement on Friday.
1. Recently, some political party leaders have been trying to create unnecessary pressure on the interim government by demanding immediate national elections, which is not desirable at this time.
2. National parliamentary elections are a very important national issue. In view of the experience of ghostly elections without voters in the last three parliamentary elections, defective voter lists, reform of the electoral law, registration process of new political parties in the Election Commission, political party reforms, re-determining of constituencies, administrative reforms at various levels in elections and settlement of other legal issues, Bangladesh Justice Party believes that if any election is held at this time, it will not reflect public opinion correctly.
3. Bangladesh Justice Party believes that the Election Commission will strive to fulfill its constitutional responsibility, subject to the necessary reforms, to hold fair elections in Bangladesh at this time.
4. Bangladesh Justice Party (BAJAPA) believes that the election process without making appropriate reforms will lead the country towards anarchy.
5. Bangladesh Justice Party, as the voice of the people, is making a special appeal to the current caretaker government to take reasonable time to complete the necessary reforms to hold fair elections.
