Staff Reporter: A civic memorial meeting was held in Tongi on the occasion of the 1st death anniversary of eminent social worker and educationist Alhaj Saidur Rahman, former President of Tongi Press Club and father of Syed Atik, founder of Haji Said Laboratory School.
Journalist Syed Atik presided over the commemoration and prayer mahfil at Haji Saeed Laboratory School, a renowned educational institution in Tongi on Friday.
Shekanul Islam Shahi, Alhaj Maulana Habibur Rahman Miyaji, Maulana Mahmudul Hasan Faridi, Maulana Tajul Islam Farooqi, Maulana Saiful Islam, Alhaj Yusuf Pathan, Mahabubul Alam, Royal Haider, Khan Mohsmad Yakub Ali, Nazmul Alam Mandal, Motahar Hossain Master, Abdur Rashid Bhuiyan, Abdus Salam, Sensei Abdullah Al Mamun, Abu Taher Master among others spoke on the occasion reminiscing about the working life of the deceased.
It is to be noted that Alhaj Saidur Rahman died at the age of 82 on September 13 last year due to old age at Ever Care Hospital in the capital.
