The event was presided over by Tawhidul Islam Tuhin, central president of Islami Jubo Majlis, and conducted by the central general secretary Maulana Sohail Ahmed. Dr. Ahmad Abdul Qader, secretary-general of Khelafat Majlis, attended as the chief guest.
Shahadatullah Tutul stated that the July uprising led to the national parliament elections on February 12. He added that it was the results of this election that made Mr. Tarique Rahman the Prime Minister. “Therefore, out of full respect for this process, it is the government’s moral duty to implement the July Charter without delay,” he said.
Reminding the government, he said that before the election, they had promised to make important decisions based on the consensus of all anti-fascist parties, but this promise is not being observed now. He added that they not only criticize but also support the positive work of the government and wish to cooperate in nation-building. He called upon all youth organizations to work in unity for the welfare of the youth.
Among the youth organization leaders present were: Manzurul Islam Bhuiya, secretary of the youth wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami; Morshed Mamun, president of Jubo Adhikar Parishad; SM Shamsul Alam Nixon, president of Jatio Jubo Parishad; Nazrul Islam Bablu, president of JAGPA; Amanullah Ghosh Russel, joint secretary of AB Jubo Party; Molla Khalid Saifullah, assistant-training secretary of Bangladesh Khelafat Jubo Majlis; Sufian Raihan, joint secretary of Jatiyo Jubo Shakti; Maulana Abdullah Al Masud Khan, secretary of Islami Jubo Samaj; Babar Chowdhury, convener of Biplobi Jubo Sanghati; and Md. Nasir Uddin, organizational secretary of Gonantrik Jubo Dal, among others.
