MM Rahmatullah: The discussion titled ‘State Reform and Civic Thinking’ organized by Nagorik Akangkha was held at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity Auditorium on Saturday.
The event was chaired by Mr. Nizamuddin, the convener of Nagorik Akangkha, while Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, editor of daily Amar Desh was present as chief guest.
The event was moderated by prominent organizer Ahmad Ismail Bandhan, member secretary of Nagorik Akangkha, where Labor Party Chairman Dr. Mustafizur Rahman Iran, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Working Committee Member and Dhaka City South Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, former secretary educationist Dr. Mahfuzul Haque, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlis-e-Shura Member and Paltan Thana Ameer Mr. Shahin Ahmed Khan, Dr. Ahmed Mujahid, Youth leader Mashiur Rahman, journalist Joynal Abedin Shishir, Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Faisal, Sheikh Khairul Kabir, Dr. Enamul Haque, Russell Khandaker and many others attended the event.
In his speech as the chief guest, Dr. Mahmudur Rahman said that the current government is a post-people’s uprising government. We need another revolution. The hero of this revolution is not Dr. Yunus, but Abu Sayeed, who stood bravely in front of police bullets.
Jamaat leader Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said that Bangladesh lost its way on October 28, 2006, when people were beaten like snakes by a Logi Boitha attack by the order of Sheikh Hasina. Dancing on the corpses is inferior to medieval barbarity.
Despite killing thousands of students, Sheikh Hasina wants to know in her video message what crime she committed? However, the fact that she ordered the Logi Boitha attack is enough to make Hasina a convict for hanging, added Shafiqul Islam Masud.
Dr. Mahfuzul Hall said that in the past years, appointments have been made in the Bangladesh Civil Service in a disgraceful manner. In the past 15 years, various job exams, including BCS, have been conducted in separate rooms for candidates of particular parties, and marks have been given indiscriminately. A generation has been destroyed through discrimination and deprivation in various fields.
Youth leader and organizer Mashiur Rahman said that just as Sheikh Mujib won the election in 1973 by stealing votes in independent Bangladesh, similarly, fascist Hasina has stolen votes in the last 3 elections.
In the president’s speech, Nagorik Akangkha convener Mr. Nizamuddin said that if we are not able to form the desired government in the future after this bloody revolution, fascism may again oppress us. He called on everyone to be careful in this regard.
