Special Correspondent: Racist Hindu leaders like Jagat Seth Mahatap Chand and his brothers Maharaja Swarup Chand, Umichand, Raja Rai Durlabh, Raja Rajballabh, Maharaja Nandakumar conspired with the East India Company and defeated Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula in the Battle of Plassey on June 23, 1757, handing over the independence of Bengal to the British and having him killed in order to overthrow the 552-year-old Muslim rule in this region.
In his desire to become the Nawab, the chief commander Mir Zafar Ali Khan also joined this conspiracy and sat in the masnad as a puppet Nawab for some time. It took 190 years to restore this independence. The ghosts of Mir Jafar-Mahatap Chand-Roy Durlabhad have been carrying out evil activities under Indian patronage for the past one and a half centuries to rob the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. Although they were overthrown through the unforgettable mass uprising of the students and the masses-24, the then British colonels like Robert Clive-Watson have not yet removed their greedy vulture eyes from our homeland, but are looking for new Mir Jafar, Umichand, Ghasheti Begums to implement their conspiracy. The nation is still divided for various reasons. The nation must remain vigilant by learning from the history of Palashi Day, bloody Kashmir, the loss of Hyderabad’s independence, the activities of Lendup Darji of Sikkim and the fall of the fallen fascist Sheikh Hasina. The Bangladesh Muslim League believes that all-round national unity energized by the spirit of nationhood is the only safeguard of independence and sovereignty. Let the context of the greatest national unity be created through the revival of Muslim nationhood, is the pledge of all on Palashi Day.
The leaders made the above comments at a discussion meeting held at the party’s head office at 116/2 Naya Paltan where Bangladesh Muslim League President Advt Mohsin Rashid presided over the event on Sunday (June 23, 2025) at 3:00 PM, on the occasion of Palashi Day.
Party Secretary General Kazi Abul Khair, central leader Akbar Hossain Pathan, Syed Abdul Hannan Noor, Sheikh A Sabur, Engineer Giasuddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Kazi A.A Kafi, Maksudur Rahman, Hasanuzzaman Masud, Rafiqul Islam, Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, Md. Solaiman, Sakhawat Hossain, Mozakker Bari, and others also spoke at the meeting. The meeting strongly protested and condemned the barbaric joint aggression of Israel and the United States against Iran.
