City Desk: The 7th founding anniversary of Pabna Journalist Forum was held Sunday at Pabna Press Club Auditorium. Discussion, poetry reading, cake cutting, batch wearing, meritorious awards, and medals were distributed in the event.
Pabna Press Club president ABM Fazlur Rahman spoke as the chief guest in the discussion, while Hasan Ali, president of Pabna Journalist Forum presided over the event and Secretary Nabi Nawaz moderated. He said, journalism is a great profession. This profession is for the brave. And that is why organization or organized power is needed. I am very happy that Pabna Journalist Forum is moving forward by bringing young veteran journalists on one platform. Daily Jiban Katha Editor Professor ASM Abdullah, Esort Specialized Hospital GM Rotarian Md Jalal Uddin, Bangladesh Covert Van Truck Owners Association Assistant Mozammel Haque Kabir, Former General Secretary of Pabna Reporters Unity Mahabub Morshed Babla spoke as special guests.
Mostafizur Rahman Russell, district representative of Ekatar Television, Abu Hasnat Md Ayyub, editor of Dainik Itihasa newspaper, Sumon Ali, general secretary of Sonar Bangla Ma Academy, also spoke. Poet Jebunnecha Babin, poet Aziza Parveen, poet Madhusudan Majumdar, poet Uttam Das, poet Mohsin Ali, poet Shamima Akhter etc. recited poems.
Pabna Journalist Forum Medal-2024 was awarded to eminent river and environment researcher of Pabna Dr Md. Mansur Alam. Rotarian Md. Jalal Uddin and poet Aminur Rahman Khan received meritorious awards in literature.
The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Maulana Abdul Aziz Humayun, secretary of the office, recited the Quran. Journalists from Pabna print and electronic media were also present on the occasion.
